Chairman Brian Knight MBE presented today presented the Springfield Renal Care Unit at Bognor Hospital with a centrifuge blood machine.  Their delight at receiving it is plain to see!

They had requested that the Friends fund this new piece of equipment to make things easier for them in the Department and to provide better service to patients – it will allow the staff to spin patients’ blood samples before sending them to the laboratory which gives a more accurate blood result.  The Friends agreed a spend of £209 for this new piece of equipment, which for a small price gives excellent added value to the the staff and patients.

The dialysis unit was originally built by the Bognor Regis Friends of the Hospitals in the main hospital building. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength, with patients able to attend their dialysis appointments nearer to home rather than travelling to Portsmouth.  We are therefore pleased to support with a new piece of equipment to further enhance the staff and patient experience!
