A wonderful day was had at the Bognor Hospital Summer Fete on Saturday 29 July 2023!

Mrs Margaret Bamford OBE MA Deputy Lieutenant kindly opened the Fete with the Friends Chairman Brian Knight MBE OStJ GASI, and given the recent weather we were very glad that she brought the sunshine with her!

It was a beautiful day and we had great attendance from the local community and supporters of the Hospital.  The Friends and hospital staff put on a marvellous display of stalls, including:

  • the Grand Draw, with lots of prizes kindly donated by local businesses
  • Country Produce, preserves, flowers and plants
  • Tombolas on various themes, plus a bottle tombola
  • Clothes & Linens, Handbags & Accessories
  • Sweeties, cakes and candyfloss
  • Children’s Toys & Games
  • Face Painting
  • BBQ, Cream Teas in Marion’s Restaurant, plus Pink’s beautiful ice cream van
  • Silly Games, Guess the Sweeties in the Jar
  • NHS Jobs stand, and SCFT Membership stand
  • Cards & Crafts
  • Books
  • Bric-a-brac

The crowds were provided with entertainment through the afternoon by Daves Music, Suzanne Hill School of Dance, and the RAFA 381 Skiffle Band.  Thank you all for generously giving your time, you really helped to make the event a success and kept everyone foot tapping and clapping all afternoon.

The last pennies have now been counted and we are pleased to announce the GRAND TOTAL for the day was a fantastic £8023!  This is the second highest total in the history of the Fete!

Thank you to all who worked to make the day a success, and thank you to all who came along to support your local Hospital, it means so much to us.  This money goes directly to Bognor Hospital to benefit the patients and staff so we really appreciate your support.

We look forward to seeing you all again in 2024!
